Mark my words this guy is going to be the real deal. Safer pick than Newton and Gabbert. Playing style similar to Fitz. I don't care if people say its a reach thats all media talk anyway. Talent is talent no matter where you pick em. If Brady was drafted in the first round the media and fans would have cried and said it was a reach but no one would be crying after he won them 3 Superbowls.

I like him too. Don't think we're going to land him though.

I will say, over last 24 hours I've seen a few TV mocks where he doesn't go in the first round-- but I don't buy that at all.

I don't buy the "no talent" excuse. I'd take a non-athletic, but accurate QB any day over a guy who is a great athlete but not a great passer.

EDIT: Just a musing, I'd like to see a list of QB's and see how their completion % compares from college to pros. I'd be willing to bet that very, very few have a significantly higher completion % in the NFL.

I am sold on him because he interviewed the best with Gruden and hes got toughness. You can't teach toughness. This kid is going to be a winner. Hats off to whoever gets him.

something about locker's toughness, size, determination and maybe just the way he seems to love the game makes me want the Bills to draft him. The toughness reminds me of jim kelly.
The accuracy thing is scary -- a lot of people have brought up kyle boller. locker does have a few things that Boller doesn't -- he's certainly more of a threat to run. Assuming Chan is here for a while, Locker does seems like the type of guy that would work in his offense. Anyone know what Kordell Stewart's completion percentage was at Colorado?

As with Newton, there's just scant evidence if any that he has the field intelligence to handle the job in the NFL.
How is he reading defenses, before and after the snap? Calling audibles? Going through his progressions? Making smart decisions? How soon does he give up on a play and run under pressure?
If he can't do these things, nothing else matters. Toughness and athleticism alone won't cut it.

Locker is one of my favorite college players of all time. I'd love to see him on the Bills. That being said - I'm not comfortable doing what it takes to get back into the first-round to draft a guy with his accuracy issues.

If we draft Miller at 3 and Locker is available at 34, then by all means - pull the trigger.
