All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Anyone know how long the 1st round lasted last year? Do they still get 15 mins per pick? If all teams take their 15 mins, which they all won't, we could be looking at a very late night.
I thought they reduced it from 15 to 10 a couple years back in order to pick up the pace. Unless they went back to 15 last year, it should still be at 10.
do they work in commericial tv breaks as well? or do they just wait until after pick 10 to get their commercials in.
If I remember correctly from years past, they usually wait until right before and then again right after the Bills pick to start running thier commercials.
If everybody gets ten minutes and uses them, the first round would last 5 hours and 20 minutes. That means it wouldn't be over until about 1:30 in the morning Buffalo time.
I don't think it'll last that long though. No way everybody uses all their time.
The problem with taping it is that the 2nd and 3rd rounds start at 6PM the next day. I may have to stay up and watch it, which is what I'll probably do.

Yeah me too. The 1st round of the draft is one of my favorite days of the year.
I miss the draft when it was just Sat and Sunday too..
Same here.
But they made the change to get more advertising $ by turning it into a media event. But if I were an owner, I would have fought against the change. I'm making multi-million $ decisions, and I would not like a reduction in the time allotted to make those decisions, or work out a trade.
Well, I guess they know. The NFL is great at squeezing a nickel until the buffalo defecates...
