A possible trade partner to keep an eye on

According to Wes Bunting of the National Football Post, the Texans are interested in acquiring either Von Miller or Patrick Peterson. If this is true, they could be a likely trade partner for Buffalo if Miller and or Peterson are there at 3. Texans have the 11th overall pick. Buffalo moving to 11th potentially gives them a good shot at landing either Cam Jordan, or JJ Watt.

Last Night, Pat Moran posted a thread here talking about how the Bills were really quiet about Cam Jordan, and this could be why. I'm only saying maybe here, but it is possible that these 2 teams could be talking tomorrow when the Bills are on the clock. What compensation the Bills could possibly get out of it besides possibly landing Jordan at 11 is unknown at this time, and maybe someone here with better knowledge of such situations could take a crack at guessing what that possible compensation might be.

Their 2nd round pick needs to be included. And I don't have the "value chart" in front of me but I'd guess that an additional 3rd or 4th rounder would do it.

It would have to be IMO to move down from #3 to #11 there 2nd round pick this year and 2nd rounder next year. Our pick is valued at 2,200. There pick is valued at 1,250. There 2nd rounder is valued at 480. Thats a combined 1730. Next years would be valued at around 400. Close enough to do the deal.
      Dareus - 1st Round Pick

our 1st for their 1, 2, and 3. i might pull the trigger. that gives us

        1
        2
        2
        3
        3
        4
        4

7 picks in the top 120, not bad... i would ponder that trade but would probably take dareus, jmo

If they are interested in either Peterson or Miller, and both are on the board at our selection, I doubt we would be a trading partner. They would wait to see which one (if any) we select, and trade with a lower team.

Unless Dareus goes first then Denver goes defense. There's only 1 guy left at that point.

this doesn't make any sense. if the bills posture that they are taking your guy, you can't just wait and see if they take him or not. Why ever trade. just wait and see what happens all the time?

the bills know what they want to do and can run interference and tell a different story when they are on the clock. "yeah, we are pretty high on peterson and we know a team that just called us because they want to spot for miller. So if you aren't interested, that's fine."

it's all about how badly they want that player. if they want him really bad, they will pay, than ris

It would have to be for more then their 1st, 2nd and 3rd.... I actually prefer the 1st 2nd this year and their 2nd next year scenario. I'm a fan of spreading the picks out.

but if we have our choice at a few real studs at #3, and we do.... and they take that trade... then the Bills are essentially saying the talent at #11 is not much different from the talent at #3.

If however you see talent at #3 that you KNOW you aren't able to get at #11 then you make the pick.

I was going on the basis that the Texans value both players equally. If they do, then it would be foolish to trade with us, when they could trade a spot lower and potentially give up less picks or lower picks.
