his knee is degenerative I guess, so it will only get worse over time

from potential 1st pick to out of the 1st round

the typical football player is in the league all of 3-5 years...if he cant hold down the fort for 5 years im down for getting him...plus we will get him on the cheap

Many people expect Bowers to be a one contract player. By the time his 1st contract is over he will not be healthy enough to be offered a 2nd contract.

Questions on his knee... which we may have cleared by the way:

When there is value to the pick, some team will draft him but it will most likely be a 4-3 team, not a team like the Bills that play both 4-3 & 3-4.

THE END OF ALL DAYS

its obvious that teams feel bowers is damaged goods so why should we take him?
he'll go to someone who only needs him for a couple years to get over the hump
wed need 5-7 years out of him til we compete for a title and by thien his knee would be pulp

1. Thurman slipped almost 25 years ago.

2. The knee problems were not the same

When they say the average NFL career is 3-5 years, they are including many, many scrubs that play a year or two at most which brings the average down.

When a team picks a player in the 1st rnd if he does not play at least 8 years he is considered a bust.

I feel for Bowers right now, hopefully he has a long career and shoves it in everyone's face.

They say that it might be a long time injury. Didn't I read somewhere that he has some arthritis in his knee?

If this kids knee is fine, he now has an enormous chip on his shoulder. Te team tat takes him might just strike gold.

It's also possible they'll strike bone. For how little he fits our D and with his medical concerns, I'd really rather not draft him.

After reading this thread, i'd say i'm ok if they pass on him. IF the bills doctors said that its a real problem...then it's a real problem.

But if they pick him, i think this slide has to be insulting to a guy who was supposed to be a top 10 pick a few months ago. i think he's going to be an immediate impact player. he struck me as a guy with a high level of pride.

Risk reward

And even if this guy had 5 solid years on his knee that's fine with me

We probably wouldn't have resigned him anyways if he was solid on the field
