    Did we dodge a bullet?

    From Rotoworld:

The Bills revealed that Von Miller wasn't a lock to go third overall had Marcel Dareus been off the board.

Buffalo's staff had reservations about Miller's size at the next level, but we suspect he would been the pick regardless. GM Buddy Nix indicated that Blaine Gabbert would have been Miller's primary competition.
Should we be sending thank you notes to Denver's FO?

I still don't understand y the Broncos passed on the top DT when they need 1 so bad and take a undersized OLB in a 3-4 system?

Sure he can play in the 4-3 but not the ideal size blows my mind in a GREAT WAY for us

we dodged a bullet when Newton went #1. now, won't have to worry if he's a bust and won't have to suffer through years of "we should have taken Newton" if he's not

Perhaps. We needed a run stopper. Miller might have gotten lost behind a bad defensive line.
This Sig will not change until the Bills make the playoffs!

That Gabbert story is a misquote. Nix said the Bills would have "considered an offensive player like Gabbert." In reality the Bills had no serious interest in him.

Dareus is the best pick we could have made. Need and Value.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I find it hard to believe they did not know which direction they were going to go in if Darius was not there. Nix even said he did not expect Darius to be there.

Maybe they'll take Mabin off our hands for a 12th round pick...

I'm surprised he made no mention of trying to trade down for Jordan...
