Great pick!! I was hoping we'd draft him. I like his talent, and I love that we filled another position of need.

Sheppard has the skill-set necessary to become a solid starting 4-3 outside linebacker in the NFL. Does a good job pursuing and tackling in open space and on the perimeter and can play in zone coverage but doesn't possess elite speed to consistently apply pressure off the edge or matchup in man against dangerous backs or tight ends. Struggles when cornered in a phone booth. Can be neutralized if blockers get good position and their hands on him. Takes some false steps and loses discipline with pursuit angles at times, but does possess solid instincts and awareness. Sheppard could sneak into Day 2.

I think we're having one of the best drafts we've had in over a decade.

Potentially, this draft is making last years draft look better as well. With Troup and Carrington, and Spiller

Yes it does. I thought that immediately after they announced the pick.

I'm sure liking this draft so far.

I love this pick. We needed help at the ILB position and he was really good in the Senior Bowl, plus Gailey raved about him. They loved working with him at the Senior bowl. Good fit! Mel Kiper can go **** himself though. He said that Sheppard is a backup.

In our 34 yes I believe so

Good pick, maybe a round early (in my opinion, yes) but he has to play in a 34 system.

Reads plays extremely well, has good range. Shoots gaps well but needs to get more aggressive. HAS TO STAY CLEAN. What I mean by that is that he struggles to shed blocks, hence why he has to play in a 34 at WILB.

I liked Sheppard a lot. I will take anybody that is a first team SEC player almost any day of the week...

Much like Ngata for Ray Lewis in the 5 tech, I think Mister Dareus and Troup may help too with that!

Notice a trend with our picks? Alabama, Texas, LSU. We love those southern boys from big conferences. I like it.

Good player. My team has been picking crappy guys. At least you took the best player at the position you were filling.

25K ZBs that Batten doesn't even make the team.

I'll take that bet. Before he was hurt, he was impressing at camp.

25K ZBs that Batten doesn't even make the team. I saw Batten like a week ago here in asu country and talked to him about his injury and the bills. He had a lot of good things to say about nix and said Chan is the man and very well respected. I hope he bounces back in a big way, him and Easely.

Does this make Aaron Williams a better pick?

I think it does. They wanted a db, and took one high because the talent was thin. Whereas they likely anticipated that they could still get a lb that they liked in the 3d. Seems like they had a pretty solid plan.

Unlike some folks I don't think Nix and Gailey forgot who they drafted last year.

him next to poz would be great if he resigns and I think he will, but we need a OLB to replace Merriman when he hurts his vag.
