Nobody likes to come into Network Associates Coliseum and contend with the Silver and Black - period. New Raider and All-Pro Defensive Tackle Dana Stubblefield can attest to that. "It's different playing against these guys in the black hole," Stubblefield said. Is Dana looking forward to being on the favorable side of the hole? "Are you kidding me?" That was his reply when reporters posed that question on day two of the Raiders recent mini-camp. The 6-2, 290-pound defensive tackle spent seven seasons across the Bay with the San Francisco 49ers, where Network Associates Coliseum was considered enemy territory. Now, Stubblefield calls it home.
Stubblefield joined the Raiders as a free agent after spending his first five seasons with the 49ers, then three seasons with the Washington Redskins from 1998-2000, and two more seasons with the 49ers in 2001 and 2002. His accolades preceded his arrival into Oakland. Stubblefield was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1993 and Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press in 1997 when he tallied 15 sacks, second in the NFL that season.
