    Bad news for the prospects of an NFL team in LA...

    Dodgers lack funds to meet this month's payroll

    The Los Angeles Dodgers don't have the funds to meet payroll through May, the Los Angeles Times reports.

    This should temper some of the NFL-to-LA talk. MLB is now the second major league to have problems in Market Numero Dos... trend, perhaps? Either way, Bills fans can breathe a little easier.

            Why should the troubles of the Dodgers have an impact on any team moving to Los Angeles to play football? The only reason why the Dodgers are having a hard time paying players right now is because their owner and his wife are going through a very ugly divorce. When those two weren't cheating on each other, the Dodgers were one of the best model sports franchises in America.

                Well this thread sucks.

                The owner of the Dodgers is going through a very public and nasty divorce. He had a "deal" with Fox for broadcast rights which would have netted him 30M up front to cover play costs during the season. MLB nixed the deal because their are concerns over the ability for McCourt to continue to run the franchise. He has admitted that he has made some financial mistakes in the past and is trying to rectify them.

                This has nothing to do with Dodger ticket sales and attendance, which is what the OP was getting at. Nice work bud.

                  I have heard on the radio that fans do not feel safe going to Dodger Stadium anymore & attendence has suffered for that reason. Seems gangbangers have taken the place over.

                      i bet a baseball/basketball team would do well here... buffalo has great fans and can throw their support behind anything... i know we have the bisons but thats triple A and obvioulsy no one cares about that. look the bandits sell out the arena for freakin lacrosse. the NBA would thrive here. baseball might be a little harder with the length of the season and our **** weather but still i would NEVER BET AGAINST A BUFFALO FAN

                          I disagree. Buffalo manages to support the NFL and NHL but could never handle another major sport. Especially because those teams would suck and fans would lose interest quickly. A Buffalo MLB team wouldn't stand a chance in free-agency and we'd lose any good player we did have. And what NBA player would want to play in da' B-lo?
