    2006, 2007, 2008 Re-Drafts by ESPN

Rick Reilly says the Saints win his re-draft of the NFL's 2006, '07 and '08 classes based on actual performance, while Seahawks are the chumps.

    Interesting concept. Recap...

2006: Whitner goes 129, McCargo goes undrafted, and we have no one of 1st round quality.

2007: Lynch goes 65, but Poz moves up to 24.

2008: McKelvin goes 101, but Steve Johnson moves up to 14.

We may have dropped the ball big time with our 1sts, but at least we got quality out of Poz and a steal out of Stevie. I'll be interested to see this done again with the 2009, 2010 and 2011 drafts in a couple of years.

Oh to remember Chris Berman saying when the Bills were on the clock, Revis and Hall are still on the board, the two best corners in the draft....

I wish I could get a job writing these kinds of articles. "Lets just look at the drafts in hindsight, we cant possibly be wrong!"
True fans want wins, not draft picks.

How the hell does he give Mason Crosby a 1st round grade? A kicker?

Where do they come up with this crap? For some of the big busts or draft steals, I can see pointing out and playing "what if", but the 2008 list is just stupid. How the heck do you put a WR who averages 57 catches per year or a WR who's best season is 784 yards ahead of one of the league's premier left tackles?

The only players that you could possibly rank above Jake Long are Matt Ryan and maybe Ryan Clady. Clady vs Long depends on your offensive scheme.

I hope this guy never drafts for my team. Even with a 3 year look at the players.

It's just an article to talk about.

Take out Steve Johnson and the Bills would be -483, by far the worst (seattle -377 the worst). Is it any wonder why they have sucked?

Nope... it sure isn't. Aside from Maybin, I think our +/- will be a lot better for '09/'10/'11 though.

Ngata and Mangold over Whitner and McCargo.
                  Darelle Revis over Lynch.
                  Clady or DRC over McKelvin.

It all seemed so obvious at the time. But, then again, what the hell do the fans know, compared to somebody who does this for a living?

After the Bills used 3 out of the 1st 4 picks on DBs in 2006..Fans on this site would have freaked out if the Bills had taken Revis in 2007

This is a good point. You really can't look at these drafts in isolation.

That might be partially correct. I can remember some posters being adamant against drafting another DB, but I can also remember others lobbying for the pick regardless of his position. Many also wanted us to move up to get Willis.
