    Titans' Williams makes huge strides following inaugural NFL season

    NASHVILLE, TN, June 23, 2003 -- A year ago Tank Williams was taking a sigh of relief and a deep breath at the same time.

    Thus was the life of the Tennessee Titans safety. He took only sparing glances at the practice field in the first three months of his professional career, battling a hamstring injury and finishing his political science degree at Stanford.

    But the rust never did show on his 6-foot-3, 223-pound exterior. Williams thrived when he started in training camp, making up for lost time in his first NFL season by becoming the squad’s starting strong safety along side FS Lance Schulters.
