    Bills open informal workouts

Running back Fred Jackson brought the coolers filled with bottled water and sports drinks. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick brought the laughs as several Buffalo Bills opened their NFL-lockout version of a voluntary minicamp Monday.

35 guys showed up including a lot of unsigned free agents and a couple of rookies... good to see.

Nice to hear about the decent turnout. I'm disappointed that Stevie Johnson and Poz aren't there. But I understand that Poz its probably leery because he's still unsigned.

Aren't they doing this all week? If so, chances are that there will be a lot more guys coming and going.
It was also notable that George Wilson stopped Sheppard and Searcy from doing anything, although they were there, due to insurance concerns.

Merriman tweeted that he'll be there this week once he comes back from wherever he is.

It's almost as if they're preparing to play, league or not.

            Bills reconnect at workout
With offseason routines interrupted, players making effort to be ready at moment's notice

"I'm definitely excited just to see all the guys that came in today," said safety George Wilson, the Bills' player representative with the players' trade association. "It's very encouraging. You see how hungry guys are and eager to get back to work. Guys spent their own money to get here. Some guys who don't have their own places are staying with other guys or are paying their own hotel bills. So that shows the willingness and want-to to get back into the groove of things. We're now almost two months into what our normal offseason would be. Guys are definitely thirsty to get back to our normal routine. But from all indications I've had, that's not going to happen any time soon."

Hard to knock someone for missing... its not like these things have been on the calender for more than a week or two. If someone already had other plans/committments, then so be it. Good to hear most of the core is there. Even just talking about schemes and what not will be helpful come August.

I'd actually rather he not participate. As scary as this sounds, given his injury history, we're gonna have a lot riding on him staying healthy this year.
