Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale told Howard and Jeremy Thursday morning that they will only call home games and a few selected road games during the 2011-12 season.

#Sabres Rick Jeanneret hoping that a reduced road schedule will EXTEND his career. Will still do ALL playoff games.

Rob Ray will join Jeanneret and Neale in the broadcast booth for road games.

So, who will do the home games? And who will be the on-ice reporter when Ray is in the booth?

and, more importantly, who will be bringing RJ his Jack Daniels now that Craig Rivet won't be in the press box to do it every game?

Huh? Re-read.
Rick and Harry will do 99% of the home games. There was never an on-ice reporter for road games. I believe Rob Ray traveling with the team is a new thing.

ah.
I'm out of market, remember? It's extremely rare that I get the Sabres broadcast of an away game so I didn't know that Ray wasn't there.

bitter sweet. i get that he needs the rest, but listening to slyvester will be difficult.
his sheepish grin always looks like someone is telling him a dirty joke in his ear piece. the guy creeps me out. too bad macho man passed away. he would have been a good play by play guy.

That sucks, but I'm glad to hear that he'll still do home games, especially now that they play his calls after each Sabres goal.

There looks to be a couple of Atlanta announcers who might be available for road games

Nobody can replace Ted Darling.
Darling was good, but I've always like RJ better.

Nobody can replace Ted Darling.
RJ's always been the first to admit that.

Well, this seems like the first step towards the end of RJ but at least he's not completely done yet.
