    O.J. Simpson vs. Thurman Thomas

    The Bills haven't had the best luck during their 50-plus year history. But few
    franchises have enjoyed their consistent success in running the ball.
     In Buffalo's early AFL years, fullback
    Cookie Gilchrist was the league's first 1,000-yard rusher and set a record in
    1962 with 13 touchdowns scored. In the eighties, Joe Cribbs was one of the
    NFL's top young rushers and was voted to three Pro Bowls while with the Bills.
    Most recently, the team has gotten strong performances from players like Travis
    Henry, Willis McGahee and Marshawn Lynch.
    And then somewhere in between, you have a couple other guys...named O.J.
    Simpson and Thurman Thomas.

    OJ and Thurman had different styles; OJ was more of a slasher

      O.J. was definitely the better runner. I'm not sure it's really all that close.

        OJ was by far a better running back... Hands of stone however, which allows Thurman in the conversation.

                2000+ yards in 14 games coupled with the fact every opponent knew he WAS the offense and still couldn't stop him. OJ!
                More versatile ? Thurm !!! Better pure runner .....OJ .. Most exciting...tough to say. They both could make the big play.

                  O.J. could go the distance every time he touched the ball and was a human highlight film.

                          My real answer to the original question is OJ. Yeah the whole planet knew he was going right most of the time but for my money he's still the greatest combo of size and speed I've ever seen.
