Bills wise to stay out of Kolb talk

The good NFL franchises always seem to find the bargains on underrated talent.
Meanwhile, bad teams waste valuable resources on players that will never live
    up to their ridiculous hype.
Word this week out of Seattle is that the
Seahawks are prepared to offer a first and third round pick to obtain
quarterback Kevin Kolb from Philadelphia. This is the same Seahawks team that
once traded a first rounder for Deion Branch and a third rounder for Charlie
    Whitehurst.

In fact, the growing publicity around Kolb is eerily similar to a guy named
Rob Johnson, who suckered the Bills just over a ten years ago.

Originally a fourth round pick, Johnson sat the bench for two full seasons
before one strong start in 1997 caught the eyes of teams around the
league. Buffalo packaged a first and fourth round pick (along with a $25
million contract) for Johnson, who started a decade-long run of pathetic signal
    callers.

Going after Kolb would be a sign of desperation, especially at that price.

The guy's proven NOTHING in the league.

Kevin Kolb=Rob Johnson 2011 edition. He may in fact be better than Johnson, but he has not shown anything more than Johnson did before he was traded up to this point.

kolb spent all those years learning from the Mcnabb. Who wouldn't want that pedigree in their qb? /sarcasm off.

getting kolb for the bills would be like buying a macbook air right now. you know the new operating system is about to come out. you know they are going to make some improvements. Why get an old, outdated model, when in just a few months (football wise, not mac cycle), you'll be able to upgrade to the shiny new toy that is exactly what you wanted and the best of all available?

On top of that signing a new QB to start would set this team back further. There will only be weeks to get Kolb up to speed, as opposed to Fitz who has a year with essentially the same receiving corps.

Just to add the 2009 Kolb was more desirable than the 2010 Kolb so yeah, pass.

I would PUKE if we traded for Kolb. Much rather have Fitz.

Kolb isn't even on our radar unless he's hanging out there as A FA and we can get him for nothing.

I've never wanted Kolb, even when he was 'flavour of the month'.
I'm not wasting draft picks that high, on a guy who has not proven himself - even in an offense he's been learning for years.
A Drew Brees, maybe, but not a Kolb. Iirc, about the only guy who has actually had success in that type of trade in recent years, has been Schaub - although Cassell will probably work out too.

Kolb might actually be a good pickup for Seattle. But that is a different team with a different set of issues than we have here. I don't think Kolb would work in the Bills system. JMO

I don't hate the Seahawks, but I do hate their smarmy cheat of a Head Coach. It is only fitting a cheater like him coached the same teams as Belichick.

I hope Seattle gives up a bundle for Kolb, then when he flops, Carroll will pay the price.

Kolb would be an upgrade over Fitz but not worth a 1st and a 3rd to get him.

Then again we blow draft picks routinely anyways, so an actual upgrade might be nice.
