When you sell a card back, you only get 1/3 of the amount you paid for it... So, he only got 6,333.33 back...

Dunno if that's enough of a penalty for people, but that's the current rule, I'm pretty sure.

Right, but at least it would make people think about overpaying. There should be a bigger penalty besides losing a few zbs, especially when some people have literally millions to spend.

Doesn't effect him, per se, as he has over 400k... But, if someone with 130k did it, they could come up short of having enough to even get to 200k... especially if they end up selling a lot of cards back.

Like I said, I dunno if it's enough of a penalty, but wasn't sure if everyone knew that that was indeed the case.

I'm not disagreeing, per se... But, I'm thinking someone would have to come up with a fair idea to "penalize" someone for selling a card back...

Maybe, the person selling has to keep 1/3 of the cap hit? Maybe a flat cap hit for any card dropped? Maybe, if the card sells for less, the original buyer take the difference as a hit? Maybe, the person who sells a card can't bid for X amount of days?

I dunno, but throwing ideas out is gonna be infinitely better than just saying "There needs to be soem sort of punishment." keep in mind, Bedard has to track all of this too, so you don't wanna make it too difficult to track, even if you do add on some sort of penalty.

I do think Sabre should be taking the cards out of his sig, though... :)

On a related note, I don't necessarily like the rule that you can buy a card for a gazillion ZB, like Historian did and only take the cap hit... The reason? Well, to be honest, a lot of players (including myself) don't even have that many ZB to try to do a buyout of a card, so it's sort of an advantage to be able to throw ZB around when you want and get whoever you want at a lower cap figure than you would have bidded...

But, Historian's bid for Tina Fey put him pretty close to the cap, so he'll likley have to unload someone to FA relatively soon as well... All's you have to do is bid over like 35k and there's no way 3 players can beat you... And, we're only a month into the game... :)

Not all of us have 200,000 to spare, just to buy one card, though. Hell, I personally have just over 200k TOTAL... Not gonna give an obscene amount for just one card, when the goal is to have the best stable. it's a marathon, not a race. :)

Maybe that's something that could be negotiated? Maybe for 5% of what you paid for the card, King would be willing to put a pic of your choosing on?

Glad you stepped up. I don't know what Bedard's rules are going to be on this, but I think if someone makes any offer, it should be considered a real offer. It's not fair for Bedard and the rest of the bidders to have to figure out if someone is joking or not.
