You guys are crazy...the girl is hot, and you nitpick about thinness and age? She's a model. It's her job to be thin and young looking - looks like she's doing a great job!!!

We got a few overbidders out of the way now...if you guys don't want her, I'll take her...

Miranda was highly sought after to say the least.

I am going to come up with a penalty for people who submit cards to free agency... TBD. It creates more work for me to have to list and create these cards twice.

Here are todays numbers.

21,000
27,500
30,000
30,050
37,800
42,001
45,001
57,400
61,552
62,500
70,001
75,000
110,201 WINNER SabreEleven

And, with that, SabreEleven is over $190k in with 2 cards...

If the penalty for putting cards on FA are retroactive, he could be in trouble...

Making it retro-active isnt fair. So that wont happen but I am thinking about it. This will push players to try and sell rather than just return them. He's obviously going to have to do that at some point now.

The best suggestion I would have would be to set a rule that, if you drop a player into FA, you're not allowed to bid on a card for X amount of days (the number in my head as I type this is three). Had this rule been in place when Sabre put his cards up for FA, he wouldn't have been able to bid today...

Having 3 days not being able to bid and not knowing who's coming up would make someone think... What if their "All World" woman comes up during a time that they can't bid?

On a separate note, might wanna prevent someone from bidding in the FA auction, if they put the card up... I know it didn't happen, but what would have prevented Sabre from bidding $40,001 on Beth and winning her back at half the cap price?

Note: I'm only using Sabre as the example, as he's the one who has sold cards back.

I think everyone that plays this game agrees that it is pretty damn cool, just needs some rules-tweaking, things that could only have been found in trial-and-error.

I think there has to be some kind of cap penalty for selling a card back. That's the only thing that would really discourage someone from overbidding to get someone then selling her back and trying to win her in a private auction.

Also, this almost goes without saying, but there should be a rule that if a card is sold back to Bedard, the person who sold it back is ineligible in the FA auction.

The King
07-12-2011, 04:00 PM
definitely ineligible... maybe a week off from auctions, and some sort of cap penalty... maybe 10K.

Ouch! That seems like almost too much... A week off seems a bit long and 5k seems more fair... But, in the end, you're the boss...

Maybe an "Either a week off or 10k cap hit" would be more fair? I think any of the mentioned will cut down on someone dropping a big chunk of cash on someone, just to drop them later, though.

-Bill

I think just a 10 k cap reduction is fair, there has to be a penalty and having so many girls to choose from, a week off is nothing when you have say 20 more weeks to go.

Man I wish each auction didn't end so early. I'm probably the only person besides Dujek who loses at least 6 hours each time and I am ready to roll!

I always thought the buyback as the cap reduction was enough. You don't need to take away days of auctions. If they have that penalty, they will be unable to bid too high anyway.

Well, Bedard runs the auctions, so dunno why you're telling me...

I don't see how you lose "6 hours each time" since most all of the auctions have started at 8-9 AMish and don't end until 3 PM EST... They are blind bids, so as long as you can log in once during the day, see who's up and PM Bedard your bid, time shouldn"t play a factor...

But, if you have an issue with the auction times, Bedard's the guy to talk to.... He's the "Gamemaster."

But the rules are set as they are so we will play by them.

It's not about winning a game.

It's about building a stable that you're proud of.

A stable for display every time you post.

S11, myself, Clumpy, Luis...we've already won in our own minds.

Get it?

Now go out there Michael....and make your Historian proud!

There's too much money floating around out there to make this the only penalty.

I don't understand. You have a hard cap of 200,000. If a person sells back someone they bought for 80,000, they only have 173,334 left to spend to their cap. The cards will cost what they will cost and at a cap hit of what it will be.

The King
07-13-2011, 08:01 AM
I think we're on different pages. Right now as the rule stands the only penalty the seller faces is he loses ZB's based on the buy back is 1/3 the face value.

The modification would place a delay on your next eligible auction a cap penalty of 10K and the buyback figure. The goal is to make FA a last resort, which makes my life easier and it should curb this crazy 100K+ trend.

Ok, yeah we were on a different page. I didn't know the 10,000 was in addition to the buyback figure. That penalty is much harsher than I thought it was. It's fine with me, I didn't like people dumping their cards either.

Some nice choices on your anniversary thread. There are some ones that will have a lot of bids.
