    Dream Team of Tomorrow

Interesting piece ESPN is doing right now... they are polling to see who people think will be the best players at their position in 3-5 years. Bills who made the "ballot":

    Wood
    Levitre
    S. Johnson
    Spiller
    McKelvin
    Byrd
    Whitner
    Dareus
    K. Williams

Most were not highly ranked. Take Whitner out (or leave him in and adjust his attitude) and you have the makings of a pretty solid core. Here's the link:

    Byrd I'm not buying.

He caught a lot of deflected balls that fell right in his hands his rookie year. Last year, he did... Nothing.

Aaron Williams may be his replacement sooner than many think.

Perhaps because Byrd was drafted by a prior regime that played to his strengths in playing a Cover 2 D etc. I won't throw him away just yet as had some good tackling numbers last year and does show that he can get INTs as he did have one in the season finale last year that he took to the house. Plus I feel he offers a better upside than George Wilson. Aaron Williams to me represents a successor to Drayton Florence or an aging Terrence McGee.

I had to roll with my Bills on both sides of the ball. I took Byrd over Whitner even though I think Whitner is a better all around safety. It was biased but being a Bills fan, should you expect anything different? lol I picked Byrd, McKelvin, Dareus, K. Williams, Wood, Levitre, S. Johnson, and Spiller, the rest of the team I just went random on. I chose Andrew Luck as the QB. Thanks to the Op for sharing this, it killed about 5 minutes of time. Fun stuff... Go Bills.

Wood- maybe, depends on how he recovers from his injury
          Levitre- maybe
          S. Johnson- doubful
          Spiller- no chance
          McKelvin- no chance
          Byrd- doubtful
          Whitner- no chance
Dareus- probably the best possibility on this list
          K. Williams- maybe

What's your gripe with Johnson? Not sure thing to be a star, but I would think he at least warrants a "maybe' from you based on last year.

Stevie Johnson reminds me of Braylon Edwards for some reason, just without the high price tag.

I did the dream team and picked one Bill based on hopefully he comes back from injury, Wood.

the WR position is too stacked. Remember, this isn't about being able to contribute to the team, it's about being amongst the best in the league at their respective position.

I think Johnson was caught a little off guard by the spotlight when he had some success last year, and if he can get over that mental hurdle, I'm fairly confident that he'll be a contributor to our team. But that's different from being an elite player at his position.

Yeah.... WR was stacked. Even as a homer I couldn't pick Johnson.

As for Williams, if he's even in the conversation in 2014 I'm a happy fan.

All in all this made me a lot more hopeful than any long-term projections have in recent years.
