CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Ticker) -- Veteran defensive tackle Brentson Bucker agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday.
The Panthers did not disclose financial terms of the deal. His current contract was set to expire at the end of the 2003 season.
Buckner, who has played nine NFL seasons and the last two with Carolina, helped bring together a young defensive line that finished third in the league in sacks with 39. Although he missed four games, the 31-year-old finished last season with 47 tackles, 18 quarterback hurries and five sacks in 12 starts. ...
