Shouldn't be surprised that he was one of the driving forces behind it, but looks like he was the one that ultimately made it happen: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/7/22/2288373/nfl-new-cba-revenue-sharing-bills#storyjump

While the players haven't yet voted on it, the deal includes something that has meant little to the NFLPA all along, but has been instrumental for a team like the Buffalo Bills. The new agreement includes a plan for supplemental revenue sharing.

"A supplemental revenue system, aimed at helping lower-revenue teams, was added to the previous deal only after intense lobbying by Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr."

The fact small market teams can compete with the LARGE market teams on an even field is a big reason the NFL is so successful & popular.

Jerry Jones being a good businessman probably came to that realization with Ralphs help.

I just read on Profootballtalk.com that the Teams that make the most money will be taxed 10%, with that money going to the teams that earn the least.

Should be plenty of money to spend.

10% doesn't sound like a lot of money to me. We'll have to take a close look at this as details become available.

10% doesn't sound like a lot of money to me. We'll have to take a close look at this as details become available. If it's the top 10 teams your talking about possibly 10% of 9.6 bill/32*10 = 3 billion so it's 10% of that which is 300 million. If it's 5 teams, it's 150 million. That assumes everyone makes the same which isn't true but it at least gives a rough idea on how much we may be talking about. It will also depend on what "local revenue" means... is that a flat 10% of teh total revenue for the big teams or just a portion of their revenue.

I think local revenue is money from suites & premium seating.

I think local revenue is money from suites & premium seating.Even if it's 10 mill for the Bills, it may mean enough to spend more on the talent. That's speculation, I think Nix will shed light on where we are at and what it means to us. I'm sure it will be good and cryptic.

I would bet it will be based on a portion of revenue, not total revenue.

Shows you how much respect Ralph Wilson has now, after that last POS of a CBA.

Thanks Ralph! The next owner of the team will have to live with this CBA. Now we have a chance of keeping the team.

Ralph Wilson - Hall of Shame Owner

I can agree with this. He's been one of the most instrumental men to the success and health of the NFL/AFL as a league. But as an actual owner for his football team, about the only thing of note he's done is keep that team in Buffalo; which puts him about at the level of Mike Brown (though in his defense he did open the pocket book from 1986-2006, i can't say however he did anything else of note during that time, apart from chasing john butler and the scouting department that Polian built for him out of town, as well as chasing Polian out)

While Ralph is not the best owner in the NFL, he is not the worst, either. Many larger market teams - Philly, Detroit, Houston and others - have not been to as many SBs as we have, and Ralph has worked very hard to keep a small market team in Buffalo.

Yeah, he got rich along the way, but that's because he had some foresight and took a risk on a new league.

I did not perceive that it was 10% of total revenue rather 10% of "local"revenue. I kind of related that to the luxury boxes. At least that's what it seemed to me. As previously stated we'll wait to see what the sharing arrangement actually is. I look forward to your analysis then.

ralph is greedy and only cares about his pockets Right, he's so greedy, he decided to keep the team where all the money's at in WNY for over 50 years. He could have moved it to LA years ago, but there's no money in that market. lol
