Yeah, I was half asleep at the time, should have said DVR alert.

It is a great history of the AFL & Bills for anyone interested. 5 one hour episodes back to back, the entire series shown today.

What's a VCR?

It was a machine that used magnetic tape to record TV shows. It was adopted over the MUCH SUPERIOR Sony Betamax because of Sony stupidly holding onto their propriatary rights.

Thats right, but the footage of the old AFL even preceeds tape. It was captured on this material called film.

I caught the part about the Bill's championship years, fortunately. Some nice comments about the team's style of play, and how they were (at the time) considered the first AFL franchise to 'look' like a legitimate NFL team. I can never see enough highlights of Cookie Gilchrest, or Stratton's hit on Lincoln.

I actually bought one of those used in the early 80's. As I said it was a MUCH BETTER machine than the VCR. A good movie about the early days of VCR's is called Auto Focus it is about the life & death of Bob Crane AKA Hogan from Hogans Heros & an early Videophile. As well as other types of philes.
