LB Posluszny tells AP he plans to test free agency
By JOHN WAWROW
AP Sports Writer
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Though Paul Posluszny would prefer re-signing with the Buffalo Bills, the linebacker will consider offers from other teams now that the NFL labor dispute has been settled and the league's free agency period is about to open.
Speaking to The Associated Press by phone shortly after NFL players voted to OK a deal on Monday, Posluszny said he considers the Bills to be his "top priority." Posluszny, however, added it would be irresponsible for him to not listen to what other opportunities are out there.

By the rules, he will be testing FA anyway... The Bills can't talk to him any earlier than anyone else and no one can sign him before the BIlls could as well.

I don't wanna lose Poz but have to admit I wouldn't shed a tear if he left. Dude can't stay healthy and has not lived up to expectations.

The defense sucked with him. They can suck without him. He's not worth 7mill per that is being talked about.

He will be back! And he better! He's our best LB!

I heard him and Whitner are represented by the same agent. Mr York and Tattoo and they will all live and play on Fantasy Island.

Being our best LB is like being the coolest guy in the Chess Club. Or being the fastest sprinter at fat camp. Or the thinnest person at Dunkin Donuts.

I could keep going, but the point is we can get equal or better production for far less money elsewhere.

I'm thinking his replacement was selected in the 3rd Round in April.

I'm thinking his replacement was selected in the 3rd Round in April.Sorry man, I'm done wanting to be forced to start rookies. If a rookie benches a starting vet, fine. But I'd like to have viable options other than rookies.

NOT THE DUDE...

cant we just sign nick barnett or brandon siler for less money and not lose a beat???

He's been the leader of the defense and a tackling machine in the last three seasons, racking up 277 tackles in 42 games. In those contests, he's only missed 14 tackles for an attempts-to-miss ratio of 24.64, good for fifth-best among NFL linebackers.

BTW, he also finished 3rd in the NFL with 151 total tackles last year. He's a tackling machine!

If Poz goes, they gotta go after Barnett or one of the Chargers. Davis and Sheppard starting is unacceptable. As disappointing as Poz has been, it can get worse.

I think he's going to get better offers from one or two NFCE teams. Id let him go, grab Siler and let Shepp fight it out with Batten for the other spot.

he'd be an idiot if he didn't test the FA now that teams have to spend more money including the bills. If we have to overpay, I hope we find a better player than Poz. Question is, are there any?

He's consistantly ranked right around the top 15 FA's. The Giants and Jags are just two teams already rumored to make a serious push for his services. He's a solid, capable starter not just on the Buffalo Bills.

DB I with you on this one....
Would luv to see the former Gator Siler brought in.
Poz is not worth 6+ mill per...........
I think Shepp may be a starter anyway sometime this season....

I like Poz, but he's not worth 6-7 mill/year. If we lost him, I'm sure we'd replace him via FA, and probably be better off.

yup, he's a tackler and that was evident vs. the pats. While he was tackling, Mayo was making plays. I wouldn't mind overpaying a playmaker , not a tackler.

Personally, the list just doesn't impress me at LB. I'd like Kiwi as a pass rushing 3-4 OLB. If Barnett gets released, I'd like him. Outside of that just nothing jumps out.

I certainly wouldn't overpay him. Throw a couple mil per at him, and if he ends up walking, he can be the third man in, 5-10 yards downfield for the Giants or Jags.
