Bills have already added two safeties tonight via UDFA in Cook and Glover along with drafting Searcy and another potential S in Williams. Lots of people for only a few spots.

Thoughts?

If we're replacing Whitner by UDFAs, then we're in big trouble. These pick ups may play a role down the line, as project players, but i doubt the Bills have any confidence these 2 signings will have any kind of impact next season.

I think it's more about his poor attitude than anything, Gailey doesn't want him around.

I doubt we're targeting these UDFAs to replace Whitner. These seem more like depth guys than anything.

Does this mean the charity boxing match with Pat Moran is off?

I'll help push him the rest of the way.

I'm not as down on him as some here, in fact I think he's a servicable safety in the NFL, but he's not worth the money that somebody will pay him and I really hope that somebody isn't the Bills.

Probably right. Thing is, it's sensible stacking up on depth at the position, on the assumption that Whitner will go where the bigger $ are.
While I think Whitner is an above average player at his position, he simply doesn't make the big plays, to justify the additional money he wants from the Bills.
From the Bills pov, they've made him a fair offer, and if he doesn't like it, then he can walk. We aren't that badly off at the safety position, that re-signing Whitner is remotely critical.

I don't think it's just Whitner, I think the team recognizes how weak our secondary really is.

Whitner was shown the door during his post-season interview with Gailey.

He was replaced by Searcy anyway, without the twitter drama....
UDFA'S are brought in for depth and bodies in camp.
I agree if these were the next starters then yes we are in trouble.
No one said they were the next starters....

I look at the UDFA'S list and there is some solid talent out there....

QB postion not so much...

I don't think he will be resigned. I say he goes to Dallas or the Browns imo.

Well, that's how they perceive it anyways. It wouldn't be right, but it is what it is.

They have a long way to go to getting it as good as it was before Buddy got here.

Watching whitner sign elsewhere will feel about as awesome as hearing the maple leafs signed tim connolly.

I think he was fully out the door the day he emptied his locker.

Good riddance. He's just another egotistical jackass who wants respect and a payday that he hasn't earned.

I don't ever recall disliking a Bills player as much as I dislike this guy. There have been plenty of Bills players who are bigger busts- hell, McCargo and Maybin come to mind as two guys that are more disappointing AND still on the roster- but the majority of the rest have at least had the brains to keep their mouths shut.
