nothing insane about undrafted free agents.. I find the undrafted lot to be quite boring, and most will never make the team or stay in the NFL

I'm talking unrestricted FA's.. which obvioulsy I didn't realize they couldn't make deals until Friday

but I was only looking for actual transactions that I thought would be happening today.. Not including undrafted FA's.

I thought that I read that Carolina signed a vet UFA already.

He was out of football a year ago, so like released veterans he does not have to wait until the start of the league (August 4) year to sign. Released guys can be signed.

Nobody can sign until Friday at 6 PM, but they can start talking to free agents as of 10 this morning. Thus, teams are talking to FA and negotiating, but can't officially sign them until Friday evening.

Draft picks and undrafted players can sign right away.

Remember, though, teams weren't allowed to talk to anyone before today, so it is a little different than when there is normally a month or so leading up to FA where teams have "informal" talks. Everything was so uncertain, people are still figuring out the rules.

Lot of these teams don't trust the Verbal Agreement. Last thing you want to do is have a VC from some player, think you have filled that hole move on to other things only to have that player change his mind at 6pm Friday
