The Bills have money to spend under the cap, but general manager Buddy Nix already has cautioned that his small-market team isn't likely to make a big splash in free agency.

Why not? Isn't it about time?

Nix told reporters, "Our philosophy still is to draft them, develop them and win with them."

Needless to say, that philosophy hasn't worked splendidly well in the past 11 non-playoff seasons.

Cold and Hard Football Facts chose a "fantastic fit" free agent for every NFL team. For Buffalo, it was Zach Miller: "What do you get the team that needs everything? ... How about adding a do-it-all tight end that would give (Fitzpatrick) a bit of a security blanket."

Can't say that I disagree with any of this...

Zach miller and clabo have both been my pipe dream signings from the beginning. Doubt we get either let alone both but a man can dream can't he?

Zach Miller just makes too much sense for a team that is well under the cap, and hasn't had a real TE in over a decade...Is just too bad that the team is not in Buffalo.

Luv Miller.
Guy can do it all, and has great hands...
What a weapon that would be...
Would just make are WR'S better because a Safety would have to stay and dbl Miller......

Love to have him, but don't see it happening.

Gailey doesnt use the TE to begin with.

Gailey doesnt use the TE to begin with.I think Gailey would if he had a competent tightend that could get open.

The last good TE we had was Jay Riemersma and that was 10 years ago... and I'd hesistate to say he was even good... decent is probably more fitting.

Ironically we haven't been good in that time span. Maybe it's time to try having a good tight end.

I haven't heard anything about Miller getting interest from any teams. What gives?

If we're talking guys who fit what Gailey wants to do, I think Kevin Boss would be a better fit.

That being said, that "philosophy" that the article seems to be callously dismissing is the reason Green Bay won a Super Bowl. Buffalo's poor implementation of the philosophy in the past doesn't mean it's a poor philosophy.

I won't hesitate. Jay Riemersma was the man.

I'd love Zach Miller on the Bills! He'd finally give us a top TE.

weird but there is so little buzz about Zach Miller out there.. Many Raiders fans are speculating the Raiders have a verbal in place because of the significant lack of Miller buzz.
