All-purpose WR returner and wildcat guy, per Rich Cimini (Jets beat guy).

This is something of a mystery to me. We need a WR, but we need a stud #1 WR, and Smith is not that. Plus kick returning is not that important anymore after they moved up the kickoff line.

Roscoe Parrish 2.0. I dont really see the point

This guy made some big plays last year. A team can never have enough playmakers - especially with Chan's ability to use a slash-type player. How is this a bad signing (if it happens)?

DrGraves

although if he ends up knocking namaan roosevelt off the roster i'll be pretty upset.

Stevie, Evans, Parrish, Nelson, Easley, Jones....

Don't see where he fits unless there's a surprise cut coming. Playmakers are always needed, though, I guess.

Could he be Parrish's replacement?

psubills62

Could he be Parrish's replacement?
Don't know about that...Parrish was doing pretty well last year, I'd like to see how he can do with an entire year. That being said, if he gets injured again, I don't think it's worth keeping Parrish around because he's just too frail.

Dr. Lecter

Why sign a LB. TE or OT?

They can have Spiller, Parrish and Smith at the same ****ing time!!!!

OpIv37

Could he be Parrish's replacement?

could be, but why would we replace Parrish?

I've never been a fan of Parrish and I hate his propensity for mental mistakes, but I have to admit he looked pretty damn good in Gailey's offense before he got hurt last year. With all the other needs on this team, I don't see any real reason to replace Parrish at the moment.

I bet he's the third QB

I bet he's the third QB

I think that's a great point. He may allow Bills to cut Levi Brown while adding an offensive playmaker that doesn't take up a typical WR/RB roster spot.

I'll pass. How many kick returners do we need? Seriously. Seriously! What, we got an gaping hole at 4th QB/4th RB/6th WR too?

Could he be Parrish's replacement?Nix did talk about upgrades where he can find them no matter the position, so we will see. I hope not though. Parrish is dangerous in the open field with the football. It'd be tough to give that up in my opinion. What may happen is that he may get labled as our 3rd QB which would mean Levi Brown would be gone. According to Brian Galliford the new CBA rule is that a 3rd QB can be active on game day. That gives you an extra weapon for running gimmick plays like the Wildcat etc. He can play QB. lol He would be an interesting addition. JMO

First of all, I'm not so sure Jones is set on the roster. Second, I almost wonder if some of the signings are creating a glut of players at one position in order to trade someone. After all, people have speculated about McGee/McKelvin trades and possibly Evans trades. Just something to think about...

The bills are like women about PR/WRs. They must have them. even if it seems like they have plenty of PR, and there is a shiny one available, they'll take it.

current PR on a team that doesn't get 3rd down stops:
Mckelvin
Spiller
Mcgee
Parrish.

Four options? How can a FO person look at the bills roster and conclude that we needed another WR?

X-Era
07-28-2011, 12:18 PM
I can't get too excited. I mean we don't need returners but in the Wildcat, sure. Bigger issue is using a roster spot on a guy who isn't going to do much.

But the 3rd QB active rule makes this more attractive.

wmoz11
07-28-2011, 12:21 PM
Don't get me wrong, he's a hell of a useful player in various packages. Hopefully his inclusion bumps a QB off the roster as Philggape said as opposed to a young WR.

How bout we spend the money on players that win games for you and not on players that you put in the game to trick people for 1 or 2 plays.

Maybe they want everyone else to concentrate on just playing their positions? :idunno:

I sometimes get worried when Mcgee/Mckelvin/Parrish/Spiller return kicks because it affect their play if the get banged up.

Not the best move but the smartest that can be made for a team in this FA. With the last QB opening (as stated before) its great to have that Kordell Stewart does everything type player, rather than having a clipboard holder. I hope he doesn't turn in to Kordell, but you get it

Interesting proposition...can Easley block though? In this offense, TE does more blocking than anything...although if we got Clabo, we'd have a solid line that could allow a TE to roll out, I suppose.

i hope the bills unveil an Arena football team look with just levitre, wood and wang. Then have 7 WR/RB with fitz in a deep shotgun. Because this is the direction they are hinting at by not going after any OL and picking another WR.

That would be a very dumb move, imo.

You dont move a guy who is raw as WR to TE which asks you to do more in terms of blocking and understanding assignments.

Im sure they are going after OL, but even still, Smith is a waste of money when we have so many other needs and we know our policy of not signing many FAs. So why waste one of our signings on a player we already have 5 of.

And I don't care bout wildcat nonsense. It has not been very effective lately with defenses catching on. Its good for maybe 1-2 first downs a game.

That is impossible to do in one year without being heavily (very heavily) on steroids and HGH.

No way did he put on over 10 pounds of muscle. Do you know how hard that is to do?

Parrish might have some interest because Smith would essentially make Parrish the odd man out IMO.
