Don't tell me special teams are not 1/3rd of the game.

I got into this arguement 2 weeks ago with a friend. He said ST are 1/5th at most. Anyone that thinks that after this game is a moron.

About 30% of the plays run in a game are ST plays, so I think 30% is a fair percentage.

That said, it wasn' t just ST. The Bills beat themselves in this game. Bad ST coverage, 1-to-3 turnover disadvantage and 10 penalties. When you look at the way they ran the ball can controlled the clock (held the ball for almost 2/3 of the game), it is incredible they lost that game.

They have nobody to blame but themselves.

When your special teams are good, they're worth 20% of the game. When your special teams are bad, they're worth 50% of the game.
Its like the OL. No one ever wins soley because they have a great OL. But without a decent OL, you can't win at all.

ST is very important, but it is the most basic and the easiest to do well enough to get by, not great but good enough. We are not good enough, we need to put our big time players on ST.
