"Osi Umenyiora still not in Giants camp; meeting with his agent, considering options. Wants a trade or new deal"

Would you trade for him? Can he play in a 3-4?

That would be a big move... which is why it would never happen. But, what are your thoughts?

Dont think he's a good fit for 34. Not strong enough to be a DE, not fast enough to be an OLB.

If Leon Seals can prosper in a 3-4, then Umenyora can too. Would love to see this dude in Buffalo. He was stong enough to put up 6 sicks against Winston Justice, who is a monster, in one game.

I think he could fit. Is he the perfect match, no, but I think he would ultimately succeed as an OLB. He would be a Tamba Hali style OLB and give us versatility when we line up with 4 man fronts.

Will never happen cuz Bflo cheap.

My thoughts aren't so much trading for him...it is the idea of worrying about him playing in a 3-4.

Who the hell cares? Who cares if you have 4 guys with their hand down or 3?

If you trade for him....

This isn't hard...Dareus goes to DT to go with Kyle Williams. Find someone that can play the other DE. Kelsay if necessary, Carrington, maybe...whoever. With 3 of 4, you have potentially one of the best DL's in the NFL.

Marriman becomes a blitzing, rush LB..pick a side. Yes Virginia, 4-3 teams can blitz. he blitzes from Osi's side, who is going to block both of them?

You have 1.5 LB's on your team. Cool, you don't have to worry about putting 4 on the field. Who starts in the middle? Davis? Maybe. Sheppard? Possibly. You'd want someone with good lateral movement. Don't worry about them in traffic, KW and Dareus are going to take care of that.

Talent dictates the scheme, not vice-versa.

Unfortunately coaching philosophy dictates the scheme. The coaches philosophy decides what scheme a team will go with and then through time try to acquire the player to fit the scheme. And if they are unable to find the pieces to fit the scheme, they eventually get fired and someone new comes in with their idea of a scheme!

Osi Umenyiora's holdout is over. He is on his way back to camp right now, according to his agent. #NYG (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23NYG)

yes, but he was reported that he never wants to speak to GM Jerry Reese ever again! He is very upset and wants his promised new deal or a trade

Osi is able to seek a trade.

I'd give a 2nd.

It would be like using your 2012 2nd on a OLB if he can play there. It's not like it won't be a need going into the off-season. He's 29 and we could get 4 or 5 years out of him.

Is he better than Kelsay? Yes. So it should be considered.

He's a 4-3 DE who wants to be paid big money.

What about that statement makes you think the Buffalo Bills could possibly be in the picture?

And again, he's the same size as Terrell Suggs. No, I think Suggs is quicker, but the guy is accomplished and is absolutely an upgrade to Maybust or Kelsay.

We can't use that?

They list the Ravens (a 3-4 team) as a possible landing spot.

"12/24/2005: Signed a seven-year, $41.38 million contract. The deal includes $15 million guaranteed. 2011: $3.125 million, 2012: $3.975 million, 2013: Free Agent"

3.9 mill is his cap hit? We can make the trade and then work on a longer term deal. I think he could be done for Poz money (7 mill per) or less.

I am reluctant to give up a first round in 2012 since IMO Fitzpatrick is not the long term solution and I want this team to draft a QB. I rather see this team trade the farm next year for the right to draft Luck.
I still worry that the Patriots will trade all their first and second rd picks for Luck.

Square peg, round hole. Have we not learned our lesson yet?

well Kyle Williams is not the proto-typical NT but he prospered last year, only way you truely know if he can play a 34 is by trading for him but the Bills FO and owner is too dumb to trade for him personally I think he would be good in the 34 plus we do use 43 off and on, and I heard they want a 1st for him, me personally I would offer a 2nd in 2012 and 5th with the option to be a 4th in 2013 depending on how he plays this year.

yeah cause no matter how bad the Bills play they screw then selves over and end up with the 3rd pick never the 1st, they were on their way for the number 1 pick this last year then decided to win some

Knowing the Raiders and Bengals we could possibly trade Maybin to one of them and get something back lol heck the Browns also

Let me see if I understand this. Osi is holding out on the Giants & the Bills are cheap penny pinchers? Splane that to me Lucy. I think the Giants are the cheap penny pinchers myself. And they are a team that Osi could make a playoff difference on, the Bills are not.
