Buffalo Bills Training Camp Gallery - Monday, August 1, 2011
Monday was the third day of camp and the first day where the team practiced with pads. The players wore shoulder pads and shorts and there was some contact, but nothing major. On the field, the Buffalo Bills team worked on their usual individual drills, 7-on-7, 11-on-11 and some special teams work, including kickoff coverage and punt coverage. The team also went away from all the passing in the 11-on-11 full squad drills and focused more on running the ball and dumping it off to the running backs.BillsZone Training Camp Report: 8/1/2011

Your reports are great, Mike. They are really infomative for those of us who can't make it to camp. Keep up the good work!Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Wow, a lot of runs for big gains up the middle. That's something to keep an eye on. Maybe that dynamic will change once Barnett is cleared to practice. But so far thats a bit concerning to me on the defensive side. It sounds like moving Wood to Center is working well. Maybe when you get to camp, keep an eye out, tell us how he looks so far? Just a suggestion. Great article by the way.

Looking at those photos, Maybin looks just as big as the other LB's to me. I don't believe that the listed 228 lbs is correct, but either way I think people are making too big a deal about his weight. Maybe his weight isn't ideal, but he's got enough size to play OLB. I don't know if he just doesn't have the football instincts or what, but I don't see a guy with physical limitations as a lot of people seem to suggest.

Thanks guys! Glad you like em. As for my yardage for the running backs, I may have been off on some because I'm trying to take photos and sometimes don't see the RB until after they get "tackled" and they keep running.

Mikey you should get me Freddys autograph.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
