What $42 million gets you

What can you get for $42 million in shopping on the NFL's free agent market? That total has been relevant for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL's shopping season to date. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Bills free-agent Paul Posluszny for $42 million on a six-year deal. ... The Bills' signings of free agents Drayton Florence, Brad Smith and Nick Barnett also added up to a combined $42 million. Florence signed for $15 million over three years. Smith signed for $15 million over four years. Barnett signed for $12 million over three years. Which team got more value? We'll know for sure in three years.

Cap Hits:
Flo: 5 million
Smith: 3.75 million
Barnett: 4 million
Total: 12.75

Poz: 6 million

Teams that are all about lowering the cap hit would say the Jags have the better case.

NFL= Not for long

Not necessarily. Only 15 million was guaranteed.

Right, and Barnett only has 6m gtd, yet you attributed a 4m cap hit when his salary may be backloaded or frontloaded. So the hit to the cap may be less or more than 4m.

Teams that are all about winning would say the Bills have the better case. And the Bills don't have to worry about lowering the cap hit. LOL.

the POS sucked even more ass in a 43 than he did in the 34...that's why many were hoping the switch last season would give him an opportunity to maybe reach some of his 'potential'.

Jax is going to rue the day they blew a big contract on that guy.

Since when? Poz was coming along quite well in the 43 before we switched to a 34.
