Ted Nolan has been hired to lead Latvia’s national team. Nolan, 53, is expected to arrive in Riga at the end of the month. Nolan was 147-140-19-21 in the N.H.L., winning the Jack Adams Award as the league’s top coach in 1997 with Buffalo. Nolan most recently was vice president for hockey operations for the A.H.L.’s Rochester Americans
