    Run and stop the Run!

    Bills run for 139 yds.
Take away vinnys meaningles run at end of regulation and we hold them to 51 yards on the ground.

This is cause for optimisim. If we can just fix special teams this team is going to be good!

Look at it this way: Special teams can't get worse, so we'll be set

What the Bills did really well is limit the Jets offensive opportunities. The Bills held a 39:08 to 21:06 advantage in Time of Possession. They ran 75 offensive plays to the Jets 47. The Jets actually averaged better per offensive play (5.7 to 5.1), but they ran far fewer plays. The best defense is a good offense, and the Bills offense stopped the Jets offense by running 32 times and controlling the clock.

When you look at those numbers, it is amazing the Jets were able to win. But the reasons are simple:

                1) Jets returned 7 kicks for 290 yards and 2 TDs.

                2) The Bills turned the ball over 3 times while the Jets only had 1 turnover.

                3) The Bills had 10 penalties for 82 yards, although the Jets nullified that by having 10 penalties for 90 yards.

It is that simple. There is no way the Bills should have lost that game as dominant as their running game was, but the reason for their losing is they did what losing teams do, they beat themselves. They turned the ball over, they took penaties and they played poorly on ST.
