All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Re: Maybe we're clearing roster room for a big trade?
how many times have we watched a ****ty move happen and then say, "no they can't be this obtuse, there must be another move coming." then we hear crickets.
seriously though, list the times its happened... I'll start.
signing buddy nix as gm...."this has to mean cower is on board and the coaching is going to be excellent"
Re: Maybe we're clearing roster room for a big trade?
i am sure they are/were going to lock up williams and johnson with long term deals but that still wouldnt eat all this cap space or even most of it. the other thing i was thinking is that there are 2 starting caliber tackles available.... max starks and bryant mckinnie... maybe they are going to lock one of them up. i am sure that either will go for at least around 3million per season.

actually this is the proof that the evans trade is ALL about money and not "doing whats best for the team". fred jackson was the deal of the century. he was a exclusive rights free agent so he could only negotiate with the bills, so we took total advantage of that and basically forced fred to take a 4yr deal that will never pay him over 2 million a season. in fact this year he only makes 1.74 million and next in the final year he makes 1.86 million. there was never a way that steve johnson got extended with evans making 5 million per season. so they took whatever they could get so they didnt have to pay 2 receivers fair market value. they already had paid lee his roster bonus, i dont know why they wouldnt just pay him this season and see what the team did and then trade him or release him in the final year of his deal if we didnt make or get really close to the playoffs.
