Guerrero replaces Stark on "MNF"


NEW YORK -- Lisa Guerrero will join ABC's "Monday Night Football" as a sideline reporter for the upcoming season.

She replaces Melissa Stark, who will not return for a fourth season because she is expecting her first child in September.

"There isn't a bigger opportunity in sports than 'Monday Night Football,"' Guerrero said Wednesday. "To be associated with a booth that includes Al Michaels and John Madden is a dream come true for a football fan."

Guerrero comes to "Monday Night Football" from Fox Sports, where she worked on "Best Damn Sports Show Period." She has also appeared in more than 200 commercials and dozens of television shows, including "Matlock" and Frasier."

Michaels has been the play-by-play announcer for "Monday Night Football" since 1986, while Madden is entering his second season as analyst.

I was listening once to Rick Bellou on Sporting news radio and he said ABC has talked with Jenna Jameson and Carmen Electra about getting the job so i was expecting one of those to get it and since niether got the job, i am REALLY disappointed even though LG is an upgrade from Starks.

Lisa actually knows something about football and sports in general. She's been profiled in SI and Maxim that I've read. Melissa was a toothpick tv commentator who got a sweet job cause she had a nice face and a sweet voice.

I'd be all with the Porn Star filled cast - seeing as how football is primarily enjoyed by men - I bet it would boost ratings too.

Even though with me, it doesn't really matter because I will only really get into it if Buffalo is playing, or a division rival is playing - I root for the team that can deal one of our division rivals a loss - thus helping us out.

She was on the Jimmy Kimmel LIVE show tonight, shes pretty decent (football wise). Shes pretty hot, but she was talking like she knew her stuff. David Cross and Jimmy Kimmel kept giving her problems about shes only hired cuz shes hot lol.

Anyways, she said its a dream come true to make the MNF team because her mom died when she was young and MNF was when she and her dad bonded. A touching story lol.......... i'm looking forward to the season. I think shes an upgrade from Melissa both in looks and knowledge.

Job well done by ABC.... although i'd still prefer Jenna Jameson or Carmen Electra on the team, but maybe The best damn sports show hired one of them???? I can only dream i guess :)
