I'm not blaming the kid. He never lived up to the billing but he didn't ask to be drafted by the Bills. It was a wasted pick and will go down as probably the third worst ever by the team - at least he tried. Walt Patulski and Phil Dokes didn't even show.

Yeah he did ask to be drafted. It has been widely speculated that Maybin juiced just before the combine to get his weight up to 250.

Per Adam Schefter.

Even after hearing how much he's struggled in camp and such, it was another thing to actually see it during the Chicago pre-season game. To be thrown around that badly by players on Chicago's roster bubble... It was bad. My wife and I were watching him play after play... He'd make contact with the o-line and then he was either falling to the ground or was in the air flying backwards.

So it goes...

Kills me what could have been out of that pick. Instead it is just the continued purging of the old regime. I don't blame him either... its not like if they drafted me #11 I wouldn't show up.
