Re: Maybin took a bit bite of Bills' cap THIS year
no cap limit in 2011 kids.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Cap hits don't matter this year, since there's no cap floor and we aren't even close to the cap ceiling.
Also, where'd you get the 9m figure? That doesn't seem realistic based on how the Bills normally write out their contracts. I'm pretty sure he only had around 5m total left on his contract, and that was in salaries, not necessarily guaranteed money."Misguided political correctness tethers our intellects."

Besides, 15 mill was guaranteed in 09. His salary is 757K with bonuses available if he hit the incentives which he likely never did.
Not sure where this 9 mill number is coming from.
"8/21/2009: Signed a five-year, $17.6 million contract. The deal contains $15 million guaranteed, including a $7.087 million signing bonus. Another $7.4 million is available through incentives based on playing time and sacks. 2011: $757,500, 2012: $1.12 million, 2013: $1.4825 million, 2014: $1.5 million (Voidable Year), 2015: Free Agent"
