    Vet Tackle available

Less than two years after Jon Stinchcomb helped the Saints win a Super Bowl and received a Pro Bowl bid, the five-year starter at right tackle is back on the NFL job market.

The bills should give him some serious consideration. We need depth and a vet on the line. I believe he would be an upgrade and start for us at RT

If healthy, he is a real good player. Pro Bowler in 2009 and a key to the Saints success in recent years. Was hurt last year, but if healthy the guy can play.

Too funny....I was searching depth charts to find a name to throw out in X-Era's thread and came across Stinchcomb and quickly passed him over with a healthy 'Nahhhh....never happen".

Would really like to see them take a shot at the guy. Even if they don't, he probably won't be the last T made available in the next couple of weeks.

I feel like I remember people talking about OLB Thaddeus Gibson as well...he was released by the 49ers.

I think there will be a few players that shake free at the end of the month durign final cutdowns. Teams wont' want to guarantee big salaries to vets who they aren't sure will earn it anymore, so they may cut them and hope to re-sign them after week 1 when it isn't guaranteed.

Also, teams need extra cap room at the end of the month when all players must be accounted for. During the offseason, the Top-51 salary rule is in place. Teams tight against the cap will have to make room for their 52nd and 53rd player salaries, as well as operating room to make moves when injuries happen. Most teams need about $2M in space to make it through the season.

He's definitely an intriguing option. Id take him over Pears in a heartbeat.

I'd love to have Waters and Stinchcomb on the right side of the line, regardless of age. Look at the chicken**** we have starting there now...can it really be any worse?
