    MarvLevy's Novel:"Behind the Lies"

He wrote a book about the superbowl being fixed...it's a novel and the team's QB is Kelly James. Naturally.

Below is a link with an interview with Marv supporting his new book out in September. I might pick it up if there is a kindle version.

within this article, i thought it was interesting that he was asked if he follows football anymore. he said, "When I ask if he watches football anymore, he shrugs. "I watch some," he says. "But I don't follow it like I did."

the question becomes did he really watch any while he was GM? because his draft record and coaching selection suggest he didn't watch any football.

Yeah, I think he did watch as a GM and realized that being a spectator isn't as exciting as being right in the thick of it as a coach and having some control over the game. So he lost interest and quit.

This excerpt turned me off -

"There's also a love story, various inside football tidbits and quirky character names that Levy loved inventing—movie mogul and team owner Cedric B. Medill, quarterback Q.T. Pye, a cheerleader named Angela (Yum Yum) Baklava and, yes, a quarterback named Kelly James, whom Levy concedes might have been inspired by Bills quarterback Jim Kelly."
I would be far more inclined to read/buy his book if I felt there was even a minute chance of it being non-fiction. Harvard or not, I'd feel dumb reading about characters named QT Pye, Baklava, etc.

There's a great link under the Related Articles heading. Well, a really cool article to read from 1988 anyway.

Would you watch if you knew it was fixed?

If it was fixed for the Bills to win? Hell yeah because that's the only way I see them ever winning one in my lifetime and I'm 34.

I think it is fixed, and that makes me less likely to watch.

Just remember, "If I Did It" was fiction, too. Not that anyone believed OJ, but it was nonetheless at least publicly a work of fiction.

                      LOL

Am I the only who thinks this comes across as him whining about losing 4 straight superbowls like it wasn't because the Bills weren't the better but because the league decided they would lose.

kind of but then you read that goodell didn't let vick come to buffalo and you see them not punish the patriots for cheating...wouldn't surprise me. they don't give two ****s about the game anymore.
