Bills to be without Parrish & Merriman Saturday in Denver

WR Roscoe Parrish (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Denver Broncos. Parrish was extremely limited at Thursday afternoon's practice, only taking part in a few individual reps.
OLB Shawne Merriman will miss Saturday's preseason game, coach Chan Gailey said. Merriman has missed time with what is believed to be a minor groin injury. "It's precautionary," Gailey said. "I think if it was a (regular season) game, he could play."

At least we'll get to see what our defense looks like without Merriman. Let's hope we still have a decent pass rush.

Roscoe may receive lots of compliments from coaches but he's just too small and brittle.

I'm starting to think he'll be gone by opening day.

Groin injuries suck, but I'm glad to hear that it's not his achilles.

doubt he will be gone but I agree on the injury front.

"Groin Injury" is obviously code for "mini team suspension for getting caught possessing PED's."

Precaution is smart on Gailey's part. Merriman is an NFL Vet. At this point in his career, what you see is what you get with him. Some work is important for playing shape, knocking some rust off, etc. But, save him for the season where what he does on the field actually counts. JMO

roscoe has an 8 game maximum, and that's when he was just a punt returning specialist.

he shows flashes but he can't make it through a season being a top 3 WR on a team. but if evans got a 4th, we might have to pay another team to take roscoe.

Merriman or no, I think Dareus and Williams and whomever else they team with them, 3-4 or 4-3, are gonna wreak havoc no matter what (though I do want a healthy Merriman in there).

I gotta wonder though if now is still the time to keep Moats at ILB. I know the coaches know more than I do when it comes to who fits where, but he seems to have some pass rushing ability and with the high probability that Merriman probably has a (minor or not) injury or two this year, we'll need someone coming in off that weak side off Dareus or Williams. Moats seems like he might fit the bill (no pun intended) well.

Then again I suppose there's nothing to say on passing downs Moats won't be used in that context. I just have little faith/knowledge in the guys behind Merriman.

Roscoe = China Doll...Just get rid of him already.

Merriman = not injured, he doesn't need to show anymore in the preseason than he did in the 9 plays he was on the field against Chicago.

Maybe if Parrish gets this years injury over early he can be there the last half of the season.

Parrish is fine, at least he's done something in the NFL. Time to get rid of babies like Shawn Nelson.
