All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Rumor: TJ Houshmandzadeh in Buffalo, Could Sign Today
The interest makes sense, because although the Bills WR corps is among the deepest in the league, they still lack a clear cut option to start across from Steve Johnson at the ‘X’ position. Houshmandzadeh is not nearly the receiver he once was, and would not even be a lock to win the job, but he could also bring a veteran presence back to the unit after the departure of Lee Evans at a much cheaper price and provide an experienced outside option to Buffalo’s spread attack.
Of course, dunno how much truth there is to this, but they move Evans a week ago, now they might be going after Houshmandzadeh? Maybe they aren't as confident about those "young receivers" after all...

Came here to increase his price at NE.
From the same article:
If we want to speculate on this, the most sensible conclusion to come would be Houshmandzadeh is in town to talk about signing a short term deal with the Bills. Housh was reportedly in New England (who isn’t expected to sign him) earlier in the week, along with talking to the Colts. It’s clear that Houshmandzadeh is ready to sign a deal, so him signing a deal with Buffalo isn’t the hardest thing in the world to believe.
If NE isn't expected to sign him now... Increasing his price will discourage them even more, I would think.

Because he did so well with the Ravens!
He not only wouldn't be a lock to start, he wouldn't be a lock to make the team. If the stated reason for trading Evans was so they wouldn't have to cut a promising young receiver, why on earth would they bring in someone older and worse?

Agreed it is almost like a trade of players where we get an extra pick in this scenario.
Lee fits their vertical passing game better, TJ fits our short over the middle game.
Another worthy note: TJ and Ryan Fitzpatrick were teammates in Cincinnati... So, there should be some familiarity there... Many reports said that Fitz and Evans "weren't on the same page," IIRC.

Don't forget how awesome he was on the Seahawks either! There's a reason the good teams aren't interested in him. I'll give a big no thanks.

This would be stupid IMO. You made a commit to youth, just go with it. We certainly shouldn't be signing anyone until seeing what Jones/Roose/Nelson can do in 3 preseason games' time.
