Anybody else catch the comments last night about the rule change? 84% of KO's were returned last season and the league wants to get that down to about 60%...If it dips below that they will look at the rule again and adjust.

It's going to be less than 10%, so they might as well change the rule back right now and not screw up any of this season.

I'm starting to think Belichick is right...they want to eliminate kickoffs completely. That would be a big mistake, IMO! It would cost a lot of average/mediocre players their jobs and would also take away one of the most exciting things when you are at the stadium...the crowd is always on their feet for a kickoff return.

Plus with this offense it's our only way to score.

A guy like Corto will be in serious danger of being cut now, imho.

Apart from Kicker, Punter and Long Snapper, just about any other guy who is a 'specialist', will have to be capable of getting onto the field, at the very least as a backup for his supposed position.

I believe I've seen something recently that was saying the NFL wasn't going to be changing the rule back/again this year.

STs will become almost non-existent with this.

              Score - commercial - kickoff - commercial

I use to stop skipping to watch the kickoff but I've already noticed this preseason I started to skip right through the kickoff until the first play.
