All this talk last week about JR possibly being cut. It looks like the WR are going to be the primary targets in our offense. JR had 1 catch for 11 yds!

Why have a 2.5 million dollar decoy? Oh well! Might as well keep him now that his salary is guaranteed since he was on the roster opening day.

There'll be games where Price or Moulds have only 2-3 catches. He'll be needed sooner or later

The thing about the TE position, is it is very valuable for up the middle yards. Everytime Drew threw short, he was hitting his backs. The only pass play up the middle was to JR for a crucial 2nd down convert, but still over 10 yards. It still ignited the team to drive and score.

Bottom line is, if they don't throw to him, it is not his fault. The Bills look like they are trying to spark and run and gun game. JR will fit in, and earn his money, IMHO.

He wasn't just hitting the backs for short passes...he was hitting Travis Henry for short passes. Pretty good for someone who "can't catch" ;) EE

What are you guys, CFL fans or something, i.e. if someone doesn't get 300 yds a game & score 20 pts, you want to cut him ? :D

The TE position has evolved (?) over the last 5 years. The primary roles a TE has on an NFL team is to 1) be a third tackle on running plays, 2) draw the inside LB's outside to free up the middle for slants, screens, play action and draw plays and 3) to block downfield on any play.

They don't get many yds or points because plays are usually not designed to hit the TE. The only time a TE gets the ball is usually as a third option, when the QB can see that they've clearly beat the MLBs, after drawing them off. Those can go for big yardage, but are few & far between.

Before you write off TE's as non-productive....look at the yardage that Kerry Collins piled up on Thursday night against a very good SF defense. Coincidence? I think not.

Thats fine Big Doug but 2 of the things you just listed #1 and # 3 JR is not very good at! He is not a good blocker! I am sorry but it is not worth 2.5 mill to have a guy draw the inside LB outside to free up the middle for slants etc! Dave Moore could do that!

wait til' DB starts using JR as a weapon and maybe then you'll change your mind.
