I really haven't seen this discussed on here. But is it possible that the goal for this season is to totally stink it up and get Andrew Luck. Is it possible that the Bills FO could be planning to completely sabotage the season in hope of finally getting the Franchise QB. I have been trying to understand the lack of moves to address the glaring areas of concern, trading away an older but still very capable WR. The only thing beside the whole Ralph is cheap idea is that maybe they really just want to lose as many games as possible this season and get Andrew Luck. What do you guys think?

But, the real monkey wrench would be the fact that Luck is only a Junior... If they tank the season and he elects to stay in school... Then they did it for nothing. They'd look even more inept than they already do.

Re: Is this intentional?
If this is true then they wouldn't have tried to draft well with Dareus and co. and not grab a guy who is better suited in the 3-4 than Poz. They also would have stuck with Levi and not Thigpen who is familiar with Chans sytemLast edited by justasportsfan; 08-26-2011, 11:18 AM.

Re: Is this intentional?
What if Luck suffers a serious neck injury? What if he has a terrible year? What if he stays for his senior year, as BLeanord mentioned, because he doesn't want to play for the Bills?
Nix has said from the beginning that the only thing that's going to change how people feel about this team is winning. Do you really think he wants to try and intentionally go through another terrible year? Being bad only guarantees that you're a bad team, it doesn't guarantee any success in the future. It's going to take a lot more then Luck to turn this team into a playoff contender and that needs to start yesterday.

Re: Is this intentional?
In today's NFL every player and coach is on the hot seat fighting for their job. I doubt that they would risk looking horrible this year to try to get one player. Besides, he could have a horrible year and fall down the draft board, or another qb could step up and be the next great one. Just look at what happened last year with Locker.Cheers!

Re: Is this intentional?
I don't think they want to lose. They want to build the entire team through the draft. Which it seems they'd have to hit 7 out of 7 for a few years straight to work--before it comes time to extend anyone who turns out to be good and "overpriced."

Re: Is this intentional?
What if Luck sucks as a pro? No one is a sure thing, especially not QBs.
I'd rather watch a seven-win team that looks like it's headed in the right direction much more than a two-win team that looks absolutely hopeless...yet again."Miami played pretty damn good today and still got their ass kicked."

That is a solid defense right there. No one can doubt that as long as they stay healthy
Bell - Levitre - Wood - Urbik - Pears
Fitzpatrick QB
Jackson and McIntyre backfield
Johnson - Nelson - Parrish at WR
That's just scary.
ONE freaking tackle to bring in, JUST ONE, and that'd stand for a mediocre line. JUST ****ING ONE! But no, we'll stick with 2 cast offs who've done nothing. Urbik has promise, but Pears is a joke. Let's bring in ONE veteran lineman whose name isn't Cornell Green and I'll have faith in this team.
Otherwise, they really are trying to rely on the defense.. and if it is true sabotage, we'll check how well they do in obvious situations... say 3rd and long and we blitz 6 with obvious passing.Bye Bye Brady...

One would have to first assume that the Bills brass is actually capable of devising a plan to get Luck one year in advance. Then implement and execute said strategy, making tactical decisions over the next few months to put the team in the best position to actually draft Luck. Sadly, the Bills have proven to be incapable of properly handeling simpler things (drafting, free agency etc) let alone masterminding a plot to land a player that they covet many months ahead of time.
Do not question this too much. Dont overestimate their intelligence. We DO NOT suck by design...
