View Full Version : Does Moats get cut?

Been reading around the web and on message boards and I've seen some opinions that Moats gets cut.

I think that would be a HUGE mistake. I understand that Chan loves the youth and depth at linebacker, but I got to think that Moats makes the roster.

What do you guys think? :nervous:

I seriously doubt it.

i think they know what they have with him, and trying to see what other young players have....

we can also play multiple positions which is huge

For a guy who has shown flashes I believe he should make the team...

but this is who I think makes the team for sure

Barnett, Nick (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Nick-Barnett/7dcf6c2c-dd75-4eb6-b59a-e72ccfb42677)
Batten, Danny (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Danny-Batten/720559f3-70a4-4d92-a049-664577fad3b6)
Coleman, Antonio (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Antonio-Coleman/8916cf03-7d4a-4d96-b3e9-4d5a1883aa6a)
Davis, Andra (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Andra-Davis/acb4b871-025b-4fd1-a20a-bfa5433925c9)
Kelsay, Chris (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Chris-Kelsay/4238a78a-b268-46ce-9967-565fdebbe68d)
Merriman, Shawne (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Shawne-Merriman/c1bc8f8f-1d92-4993-9473-932176fc913b)
Morrison, Kirk (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Kirk-Morrison/c9b9be07-c6f4-4b4b-ba34-88ea222e0d97)
Sheppard, Kelvin (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Kelvin-Sheppard/b3811637-12ae-4a73-8389-3277dacecec6)

That's 8, how many do we keep ? the following are PS or cut IMO

White, Chris (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Chris-White/5df8e620-4b8f-4b49-ba4b-fedc63a7d19c)
Moats, Arthur (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Arthur-Moats/5bef63dd-349b-495d-bb1b-7de83971e9d1)
Kirlew, Jammie (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Jammie-Kirlew/f4cfa383-43c2-46ba-a080-d36522bf7c72)
Hicks, Brandon (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Brandon-Hicks/33299dab-7dff-445c-9df6-8a566b63c826)
Eddins, Robert (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/Robert-Eddins/91d0d7f2-0d0a-4c59-80f7-2296cbe5a72c)

Could Davis be cut ???? aging vet... if he isn't going to start then I could see youth taking the back up spot.

It's going to be a tough decision for Gailey. Both Coleman and Eddins played extremely well in preseason. Eddins is one Gailey likes a lot. If he doesn't make the 53, they will most likely try and get him on the PS.

If they are REALLY high on Sheppard, a Davis cut wouldn't surprise me.

the LB crew and the final WR spots are the tough choices....

I think the decisions for these 2 positions will be what happened in practice... Plenty of game film showed that yes there is tough choices to be made, it will be preperation and practices that frame the final decision IMO

You gut one of White or Moats. In my final roster prediction, I cut White.

Eddins doesn't make the team either. Both LB's go PS.

Honestly, I'm not sure WR is that difficult. I think it's exactly as X had. I have no problem cutting guys like Hubbard, Martin, etc. None of them have shown me they're worth a roster spot.

Moats is some kind of sacred cow. Why I have no idea.

They'll never cut him.

Its because of the hit on Favre.

In a limited role he was kind of productive, certainly did more than Antonio Coleman. What in the world has he done? At least Moats helped us win a game last season. Beat Joe Thomas for a sack + fumble, and helped lock up that Browns game.

True but he's not playing OLB anymore. You have to evaluate him as to what he offers us as an ILB.

Moats was inactive last night... I don't believe he was injured.

My guess would be, if he were on the bubble, he would have been active and played. I have to assume, based on that and Gailey's comment last night, that he's made the team.

I would have to think his versatility is something to consider.

another example of our mismanagement on this football team....Moats should be OLB and Carrington should be at DE....CUT KELSAY

I agree, but wouldn't cut Kelsay. He would make decent depth at DE and OLB in a real pinch, and could be a big hitter on ST's.

Carrington is way too small for 3-4 DE. Way too small.

And Kelsay has actually been OK.

You couldn't be more wrong. He's bigger than Dwan Edwards and the same weight as Spencer Johnson but 2 inches taller.

Not always sometimes a team will make a guy inactive so he doesnt get injured and can find a job....

I dont see that being the issue with Moats, I think they keep him he is a Nix, and Gailey guy......I think davis gets cut older Vet that would be 2nd stringer anyway...
