Anyone able to figure out where we stand with roster count? I think it may be 1 or two short of 53.

I get 53...

http://twitter.com/#!/buffalobills/status/110104953158250496

Bills by position kept 3 QBs, 3 RBs, 1 FB, 6 WRs, 3 TEs, 8 OL, 6 DL, 6 ILBs, 5 OLBs, 4 Ss, 5 CBs, 3 STs = 53-man roster

Releasing Hangartner is foolish. I still think he should be starting given how terrible the right hand side of our line is.

And Brown will no doubt go to the PS so they could activate him if there is a long term injury at QB.

My only thought on keeping Ruvell over Roosevelt is that Martil looked decent on special teams coverage.

Elzy, R. and D. Martin, and C. Brown make it, but Hang, Roosevelt and Coleman don't?

Surprising.

Do we really need 4 RBs?

And if we want to give our young receivers a chance (see Lee Evans) why keep Martin over Roosevelt.

And let's all hope that Wood doesn't get hurt.

3 RBs Jan - Jackson, Spiller and White. Elzy was cut last week

McIntyre is a FB

Coleman got caught in numbers. 11 LBs is pushing it already

Brown over Hang is a bit of a shock, but Hang was in the group that got beat up.

Only seven lineman are going to be active on gameday anyway. Bell, Levitre, Wood, Urbik, Pears, and Rinehart will be the first backup on the interior while Hairston the swing tackle. Colin Brown will be inactive every week. If you saw Gailey's comments on the roster he said they were going to keep the 45 guys who will help the team most vs. KC and the remaining will be players who they like in terms of long term potential.

No surprise Hang gets cut then if Rinehart's the first inside guy off the bench anyway. And they keep Brown because they like his size and potential. When you look at it that way, it makes sense, and isn't really a money saving move. At least that's what I would think is the rationale.

Also, Roosevelt and Aiken have a very slim chance of being claimed by another team, at least one has to be assured a spot on the PS.

And Eddins and 11 LBs make a lot of sense considering Merriman's health issues.

Very glad Corner was cut. He couldn't cover a bed if he was a blanket.

Looks like Searcy may have made it:

http://twitter.com/#!/DSearcy21/status/110095689270300672

I predicted this but it's just because he was drafted not because he showed us really anything thus far.

I think Searcy showed a little upside. He made a few solid open field tackles against Jacksonville. That is great, but I don't think he got smoked, did he?

Also, the alternative was Corto. I know he is an OP guy, but he was never going to play safety, and his special teams play is good or two or three big penalties per year, and not much else.

You keep Byrd, Wilson, Scott, and Searcy. That makes sense.

I'm expecting big things from Parrish this year. He had some huge 3rd-down catches last year. If he's healthy, it's no comparison between him and Roosevelt.

Nothing's official, but logic dictates that he'll go back outside.

White/Sheppard/Davis/Morrison/Barnett are inside guys Batten/Moats/Merriman/Kelsay outside (don't want to lump Carrington with this group however).

Already have enough ILB.

I believe Eddins (who they kept over another outside guy, Coleman) is an outside guy, and Carrington - primarily a DE - has been used as a pass rushing LB. I'm not sure that the coaching staff doesn't like Moats better inside.

I know alot of people on here were against Moats going inside, did anyone think maybe they were teaching him all LB positions??
