Steve Maneri makes a lot of sense for the Bills. He was a TE in college who converted to OT as an undrafted FA last year for Houston. The Pats liked him as a project, and claimed him. After 3 games inactive on the roster, they cut him and signed him to the PS. He finished the year on the PS.
This year in camp, Maneri looked pretty good. He beat out former swing OT Mark Levoir for the 4th OT job, but was cut when the team signed Brian Waters. The Pats drafted Nate Solder and need veterans more than projects because they are in win-now mode, so Maneri was a victim of circumstance. He isn't as big as the other Bills OT, but is athletic and has received good coaching. He is probably a better pass protector than drive blocker, but he really looked pretty good this preseason. He is tall (6-6) and athletic, and has his weight up to about 300#. A young OL with promise, I like the kid.
