I saw an article earlier that indicated he needed another surgery on his neck but they were going to pass, and also something was going on with his back now too.

Well that explains why they gave Kerry Collins a 2yr-14 million dollar contract to be a backup to Manning when Manning had never missed a game. They must have been anticipating him maybe missing some extended time or a good chance of it at the very least and wanted an insurance policy.

Colts vice chairman Bill Polian offered the latest insight into QB Peyton Manning's worrisome pain in the neck Monday night.
Assuming Colts QB Peyton Manning can't play Sunday, Kerry Collins (5) probably will.
