to team. Just kiddin, he's not returning on special teams any longer. :limpclap:

Solid combo of CJ and B. Smith. Though I seriously miss McGee back there, I think he's the best of the bunch. Parrish in rightful place at PR.

Good. I want him to concentrate and save his energy playing cb.

McGee was pretty good, but I'm not sure he's able to do that anymore. Besides, B. Smith is actually pretty good himself. I look forward to seeing him.

Makes a ton of sense. A lot better to play Smith and Spiller considering they wont have nearly as much time on the field as McKelvin

Even though they will both play, it's a little interesting he beat out Florence on the depth chart

Especially since it's showing he's starting over Florence.

With the way the new kickoff rule has pretty much destroyed that element of the game, the Bills can put anyone back to return kicks, it wont matter.

Thanks for making me vomit on my day off.

Kind of ruins my "2011 Bills firsts" thread predictions, but hey, maybe he can return an INT for a touchdown...

Good to see Smith and Spiller, as stated earlier they aren't going to see the field as much so they can work their magic.

Brad Smith nails down KR job (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/09/06/brad-smith-nails-down-kr-job/)

It’s probably nothing close to surprising, but it appears that Brad Smith has nailed down the starting kick return job for the 2011 season.
That according to Buffalo’s updated depth chart (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/depth-chart.html), which has Smith listed first with C.J. Spiller as the second returner. Smith was second in the league in kick return average last season with 28.6 yards per return. Only Baltimore’s David Reed had a higher average (29.3), but he had less than half the return attempts (21) of Smith (50) last season. Two of Smith’s returns last season went for touchdowns including a 97-yarder.
Keep in mind however, that from the very first day of training camp, head coach Chan Gailey saw a role for both Smith and Spiller on kickoff return.
“I definitely see both of them in that role,” said Gailey back in late July. ”It will be interesting to see how kickoff returns work out with the rule changes.”
Hopefully there are enough opportunities for Buffalo’s returners to improve the offense’s drive start average this season.

For all McKelvin could be an electric returner, I don't think you could trust him to make the right decision. I'm not sure he knows what a fair catch is, which while exciting, has lead to some highly costly errors.
As to starting ahead of Florence, I don't mind that call. For him, it's now or never tbh - he has to start playing a lot smarter as a CB. He has an enormous amount of ability, he just needs to put it together.

Thoughts of DRC haunt me. Same thing will occur with Patrick Petersen unless Dareus continues to be the rock he is at the moment.

I told myself to keep an eye on him to see how he is doing in the preseason, and I haven't. Has anyone watched him at all? If so, how has he looked?

I just remember mckelvin on the punt vs Pitt

Everyone told him to fair catch it and he was like thumbs up........then returns it and cost us field position with his fumble

Smith and Spiller probably won't get too many chances.

Spiller & Smith are the two I want back there.

McKelvin is easily tripped up and he blew the Pats game on a return.

Had a pick-6 and was named starter for week 1. (although somewhat due to an injury to whoever the previous guy was)
