The Bills QB also let the media know he plans to grow a beard once again this
season. His scruffy look became his trademark last season. When asked what his
wife thought about him growing the beard again, Fitzpatrick said, "she's along
for the ride."

So many things I could say about the wife aspect but... Good to hear it's making a comeback!

I like Fitz's beard and all, but I'm starting to get annoyed by all the "Hey, this athlete has a big beard" stories in the media.

A beard is something every self respecting man should have from September/October through February.

:bf1:

Well, he knows he's not going to get the chance to grow a playoff beard, so he just grows a regular season beard instead.

Just to name a few:
Brian Wilson (MLB even uses a commercial centered around it)
Brett Keisel (Steelers DL - media wouldn't stop talking about it during SB week)
Johnny Damon back in his Red Sux days - It made him more famous than his consistent lead-off play and noodle arm.
Jake Plummer in his last few years on the Broncos - not as celebrated, but definitely talked about.

NFL TA once even did a top 10 NFL beards segment.

Okay, so some guys grow big beards. So what?

I know our local news stations seem enamored with it. Especially Jeff Russo.

Men's fascination with other men's facial hair always leaves me wondering...
