    My biggest worry

is our special teams which had poor showing at pre-season games.

This team no longer carry special team specialists like the previous regimes and I don't know if this team is good enough to recover from special team disasters.

    Re: My biggest worry

In the Jauron era, I would seriously say this new kickoff rule would spell disaster. The only time Jauron's offense would score was with a short field after a McGee return or a bomb.
I'm less worried about it now after Gailey's offense showed the ability to actually sustain drives.
Jauron's teams had a guy who made special teams plays but could not hold an actual position. Sam Aiken made some tackles but couldn't get on field on offense.
This team has as much or more talent than Jauron's teams. Someone will step up into that role.

If the running game of KC gets stuffed, the chances of winning are great. ST's won't even figure in. Moorman will just angle it out of bounds and if I see Lindell kicking off frequently, that means we're scoring a ton.

It's all how you look at things.

St is your biggest worry? Sure, I'm concerned about it but we have bigger things to worry about. Like a porous O-Line.

On the defensive side I think you have a solid point. Offensively though, I'm not as concerned about our special teams ability to get positive plays.

As far as biggest worries about Sunday's game, for me its endurance. Can this team keep pace with KC for all 4 quarters? That is really what could be the determining factor in this one. A solid running game has a way of wearing down a Dline. The team that is better conditioned will probably win this one. Turnovers, and penalties are close seconds. Turnovers are often the determining factors in close games. Penalties can hurt any good defense, and are often drive killers on offense. JMO

Lack of depth means lack of ST talent. I too am concerned with kickoff and punt coverages. Teams might actually opt to run out of the end zone thinking they can do better than the 20 yard line. It could put even more pressure on the D. Lets hope it doesn't turn into a problem.

(for the optimism impared, I will translate the above post into language better understood...)

WTF is Nix doing? Two off-seasons and we still have problems with special teams? We're doomed. I'm so done with the Bills! I'm going to just hit my head with a hammer while I watch the game.

The O-line scares me to death. The lack of experienced receivers worries the Hell out of me. Inexperience at some front 7 positions, plus uncertainty at Safety, is cause for concern.

Special teams, particularly without Corto, are an issue, but to me, a comparatively minor one.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I'm still worried about our run D until proven otherwise. Our OL was worse last year and yet somehow we managed to score a TD or two.

I have seen enough in preseason to not be worried about the run D. There are going to be many surprised Chiefs fans on Sunday when Charles gets stuffed.

I am not concerned about the OL too much in this game as long as everyone stays healthy. I will be more concerned about it in 3 weeks when the Bills play the Pats*.

My biggest concern is lack of experience at WR. I just hope Smith & Spiller can pick up the slack.

my biggest concern is that our upgrades on defense took us from spectacularly crappy to just mildly bad and we still give up like 120 yards rushing and allow too many 3rd downs.

When I see the yards both NO & Green Bay gave up last night, I would take 120 Yds. The X factor to me is turnovers. If the Bills are on the plus side of that, they will win some games.

Special teams will be a determining factor in this game I agree, but we have great returners. I will depend on gunners and coverage. With an offseason shortened by the lockout, expect special teams around the NFL to be very sloppy as coaches would have delegated less time to special teams work in order to get offenses and defenses ready to go.

It won't just be the Bills unit that looks sloppy, KC and the rest of the league will as well. Look at yesterdays' game as an example. It was a great offensive battle, both defenses were a joke, and the special teams coverage units looked like they hadn't played together before.

This year is all about continuity and which coach was able to best make due with limited time and limited reps. Sunday is going to be interesting.

Lindell needs to man up and kick the thing out of the end zone. He has a 5 yard head start this year. I'm not worried about Moorman. He's the frickin star of the team.
