4- Touchdown passes (where as in seasons/decades past we would have had FGs or nothing)

That is just a delirious number. I flashed back to the K-Gun in it's glory days for a minute (not in style of course, but rather result)

GOD, I HATE stats. If you just looked at Cassels stats from the first half, it would appear he was playing well.

ANYONE that WATCHED the game knows that was not the case.

5 penalties for 30 yards.

About 1/3 of a Jaron coached game.

Yea I thought he had 57 or 59 rushing. Maybe that was his total yards

That would be mine too. Before today I thought those might be his full season stats.

Mine...... 3 secs.

3 secs of OP complaining about Lindells leg strength on the opening kick, not getting a touchback.

From then on, silent astonishment. That is if he watched the game.

At some point, Brad Smith had 2 rushes for 2 yards. I liked that, because both of those rushes, moved the chains on 3rd and 1 downs. ;)

Not really a stat but the fact the offense capitalized on KC mistakes thus changing the game plan of KC from running the ball and putting the ball in Cassel's hands. That was key to the blowout.

If there is any stat that means anything TDs is a BIG one. That & turnovers which I said before the game if the Bills were on the plus side of that stat they would win some games.

Charles only had fifty something yards.

Good catch. I originally put KC but then was more impressed with Charles lack of yardage but forgot to change the total.

KC 3-for-13 on third downs. They had only two drives all day that were more than 5 plays.

Only one sack allowed.

Sure is hard to pick one stat. There's so many that represent what happened and what Bills fans have always hoped to see from this team - turnover margin, third down conversions (both offensive and defensive), rushing yards, rushing YPA, passing YPA, Fitz's TD:INT ratio, time of possession, etc.

I'll go ahead and say red zone efficiency - 4/5 scoring TD's, and 1 FG. First of all, the fact that we got in the red zone 5 times is a bit mind-blowing, but at the same time I don't remember being that good inside the red zone. I mean, it was amazing to see us at the 1/2 yard line on 3rd down, get two 5-yard penalties, but STILL score a TD.

For a guy whose negativity concerning the Bills has been pretty much spot on over the last 10 years, OP gets a lot of flack.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I was a little pissed off the first half. Direct TV was having problems, (at least in Arizona) and we had to watch the 1st half on the little box on the Red Zone channel. I'm hoping that this game is one of the NFL networks replay games so I can really watch it. With that said, it was nice to sit and watch our team dominate in all apects of the game. It really did bring back some great memories of Bills games past. I hope we have a lot more of these games this season. So my stat of the game was plain and simple.

"DOMINATION"

This was recently posted on rotoworld.com, figured I'd share it since it's an interesting stat:

Matt Cassel completed six passes for negative yardage in Sunday's ugly loss to the Bills.

Cassel turned into the definition of a dink-and-dunker, with 14 of his 22 completions going for six yards or fewer. Pass protection was an issue, resulting in almost exclusive three-step drops. It's a major red flag for a Chiefs' passing game that was primed for a big-time regression off their 2010 breakout.

Kyle Williams - 0 tackles
Merriman - 1 tackle
Dareus - 2 tackles

3 total tackles for the 3 headed monster.

Were they absent on Sunday?

Not on your life.

Its been years since I've seen our LB's pursue as freely as they did.

Just an inflated stat when the Chiefs drive chart looks like this:

If it means that the other 8 players on the field can make tackles and keep the offense from more than 6 plays per drive then I'll be happy if these three just take up blockers and don't make tackles. They've done their job.

I agree that the number looks bad, but compare the play-by-play for Jamaal Charles between last year and this year:

2010:
Charles, run, 32 yards
Charles, run, 3 yards
Charles, reception, 7 yards
Charles, run, 6 yards
Incomplete pass
Run, 4 yards
Run, 4 yards
Run, 1 yard
Pass, 7 yards
Run, 7 yards
Run, 11 yards
Reception, 31 yards
Run, 18 yards
Run, 18 yards
Run, 12 yards
Run, 3 yards
Run, 6 yards
Run, 1 yard
Run, 2 yards
Run, 10 yards
Run, 13 yards
Run, 9 yards
Run, 6 yards
Run, 2 yards
Run, 1 yard
Reception, 16 yards
Run, 8 yards

2011:
Run, 4 yards
Run, 3 yards
Reception, -6 yards
Run, 4 yards
Run, 22 yards
Run, 0 yards
Run, 2 yards
Run, 3 yards
Reception, 9 yards
Reception, 1 yard
Run, 14 yards
Reception, 6 yards
Reception, -1 yard
Incomplete pass
Run, 5 yards
Run, -1 yard

Summary:
Runs of 5 yards or more: 13 (2010 - 59.1 %), 3 (2011 - 30%)
Runs of 10 yards or more: 7 (2010 - 31.8 %), 2 (2011 - 20%)
Zero gain or Negative plays: 0 (2010 - 0%), 4 (2011 - 25%)

Charles essentially gained gained 36 of his 56 yards on two plays - one came on a draw when we were up 20-0. He also only had 5 receptions for 9 yards against us this year vs. 4 for 61 last year. Charles was much, much less consistent in gaining 5+ yards in his runs against us this year. He broke a couple good runs, but that's the kind of back he is - almost no matter the opponent, he'll break one or two runs. The key is not letting him get 5+ yards per play consistently. The consistency is the key difference between the two.

Note: I may have one or two of those numbers wrong, didn't double-check my totals. Either way, pretty stark contrast though.
